Black Sheep Medellin, Colombia

This comfortable, sociable and friendly New Zealand-run hostel is a great base from which to explore Medellin. There are all the facilities you could hope for including a fully equipped self-catering kitchen and plenty of information and advice on how to make the most of your stay.

The hostel was opened in 2005 by owner Kelvin and the place hasn't stopped growing in popularity since! Its handy location five minutes from the metro station Poblado, means that you can access most of the city's main sights quickly, easily and cheaply.

Having travelled extensively in Colombia over the past six years, owner Kelvin is around most days to pass on his knowledge and give travellers advice on what to see and do both locally and in other parts of the country. The rest of the time, the friendly local staff will be able to help you out, in Spanish or English.
