A fresh and picturesque town up in the lush mountains north of David city, Boquete provides travellers with the perfect opportunity to take it easy, enjoy the scenery and take a break for a couple of days.

With the rich agricultural produce in this area, visitors will be spoiled by the great variety and quality of produce on offer. Everything from freshly ground coffee to ripe fruit picked straight from the tree will certainly add to the enjoyment of any visit. A popular daytrip is to visit the nearby farms where some of the country's top produce comes from.

Aside from this, there are many activities on offer to make the most of the beautiful surroundings and varied landscape. Adreneline charged activities include scaling Panama's only volcano, Volcan Baru, white-water rafting or venturing off through the mountains on horse-back while a more relaxing afternoon in the hotsprings can also be arranged!

An enjoyable daytrip is a walk along the Quetzal Trail. Be careful not to confuse this with the Waterfall Trail (1.5km before the Quetzal Trail) which is also a nice but shorter walk.
