Calidad House is a well-located hostel with good facilities currently undergoing renovations. English/ Colombian owners, David and Emma have been improving the hostel little by little since 1999 to include all the facilities backpackers are looking for.

Situated in a quiet residential neighbourhood not far from the city centre, many find this hostel a handy base while visiting Cali. The useful and fully equipped self-catering kitchen makes Calidad House a good choice for the independent or budget traveller and has a range of accommodation to suit different budgets.

As the owners spend part of the year in the UK, the hostel is often left in the hands of Gilma, Emma's mother and manager Marisol. They should be able to provide you with the local information and advice you'll need. Calidad House offers 8 simple but comfortable rooms including three 4-bed dormitories. Private rooms sleep between one and three people and all have shared bathrooms.

Private double rooms cost 32,000 Pesos and dorm beds come in at 16,000 Pesos.

There are great self-catering facilities including a communal kitchen and laundry facilities. There is also handy internet access for guests charged at 2,000 Pesos per hour.

There are some nice social areas including a hammock-strewn terrace and a comfy lounge with cable TV.

There is no evening curfew so guests can feel free to enjoy Cali's nightlife although noise should be kept to a minimum on your return to the hostel.
Situated 3 blocks north of the popular Avenida Sexta on Calle 17, the hostel is in a quiet residential area. Coming from the bus station or airport, it's easiest to catch a taxi for 3 - 4,000 Pesos.
