Casa Mayde is a Colombian run, comfortable and relaxed hostel in the safe and modern Parque Lleras neighboorhood. There are many nice restaurants nearby and lots of green areas giving this part of the Medellin a relaxed, out of the city feel.

Less than ten minutes walk from the Poblado metro station, Casa Mayde allows easy access to the most interesting parts of the city. With the easygoing feel of the neighbourhood but with easy public transport connections, Casa Mayde makes a good compromise for travellers looking to have a relaxed stay in Medellin.

Opened by Mayde Gonzales in March 2008, this small and personal hostel provides backpackers with a home away from home.

As one of the smallest hostels in Medellin, Casa Mayde has a maximum capacity of 12 people split between a dorm and private rooms.

Dorm beds cost 20,000 Pesos while private double rooms cost between 40,000 and 60,000 Pesos. There are also three studio apartments available for rent which have private bathrooms and kitchens, they cost 70,000 -90,000 Pesos per night.

There is a fully equiped self-catering kitchen where guests are welcome to prepare their own meals. A small store selling fresh produce and general supplies can be found a block from the hostel.

There are two small patios with internet and cable tv.

A laundry service is available for 8,000 Pesos.

From the airport take a minibus to the city centre (1 hour) There, take the metro line in the direction Itagui to the Poblado stop. From there, walk along calle 10 in an eastern direction to just past Carrera 38. A taxi from the metro stop costs 3,900 Pesos.

The southern bus station is not far from the Poblado metro station and only a 4,000 Peso taxi ride or a 20 minute walk right to the hostel.

From the northern bus station, take the Itagui Metro Line to Poblado station and then walk (as mentioned above) or take a taxi.
