El Cafecito, Quito, Ecuador

As one of the old favourites in Quito, El Cafecito won't disappoint. With spotlessly clean rooms, a popular cafe/restaurant and a tranquil shaded courtyard all housed in a beautifully decorated building in the Mariscal , this is an excellent Quito choice.

Opened in 1993 by Canadian owner Anthony Lloyd, El Cafecito has become a real favourite amongst travellers and locals alike thanks to it's stylish decor, relaxed atmosphere and friendly welcome.

Facilities...
With only six bedrooms, the hostel retains a personal feel and allows guests plenty of space. Rooms range in size from singles to a five bed dorm.

Prices start at $6.00 for a dorm bed and private rooms with shared bathroom cost $15. Rooms with private bathroom cost $25.

Drinks and delicious homemade snacks are available from the El Cafecito cafe downstairs. The social areas, including the outdoor terrace, welcome guests and non/guests alike to enjoy the relaxed and sociable atmosphere.

There is plenty of local information and the friendly bilingual staff will happily answer questions and offer advice to visitors to Quito.

The Quito El Cafecito also has a sister hostel in Cuenca of a similar style and with more or less the same facilities.
