Finca El Maco is a lovely Eco-Hostel just outside the village of San Agustin towards the archeological park. Situated uphill from the main road, guests will get a taste of countryside tranquility in this friendly and beautifully-constructed hostel.

Consisting of five cabins plus the reception/social building, Swiss owner René has spent the past 13 years creating little by little, this fantastic country lodging. On the remainder of his land, he has also introduced organic farming methods and can now provide the hostel with a host of tasty fruit and veg as well as home-made Swiss-style cheeses and yogurt.

Finca El Maco is a friendly and comfortable place to stay and enjoy the peace and quiet of this beautiful area. Finca El Maco has four cabins sleeping up to 18 people in total. There is a 6-bed dormitory, a 3-bed private room, two chalets sleeping 5 and a 2-bed cabin.

Prices range from 14,000 Pesos for a dorm bed to 20,000 Pesos for a private, ensuite room in the chalet.

The sociable reception/restaurant area serves delicious, healthy meals using organic produce from the farm. The restaurant is open every day of the week. There are also beers and soft drinks on sale from the reception.

Self-catering facilities are available for those who prefer to prepare their own meals along with an area where guests can hand wash clothes if they wish. There is also a laundry service available for 4,000 Pesos per kilo.

There is now an internet service for 2,000 Pesos per hour so that guests dont have to make the trek into town to check their emails.
