Having opened its doors in 2004, the Coco Loco is now one of the best backpacker hangouts in Canoa. Owned by a friendly Dutch-Belgian couple (Frans & Rika), the beach-front hostel offers most facilities one might expect from a surf hostel...and more.

With a Happy Hour every night, small snacks restaurant & palm-fringed hammock garden, the Coco is a communal friendly place that seems to have taken over from other, possibly quieter, hostels in Canoa. Don't be mistaken, we are still talking about quiet Canoa, location of the widest beach & one of the best left break surf waves in the country.

The Coco Loco offers a variety of rooms including 4-bed dorms at $5 per bed, doubles with shared bathroom - $8 per person or $12 for a couple.

Double rooms with private bathroom and sea facing balcony cost $16 per room and a double with private bathroom costs $14 per room

4-bed room at $14 for 2, $21 for 3 and $28 for four people.

Hot showers are available 24 hours and there is a well equipped self-catering kitchen too.

Bar & Snacks restaurant (soups, crepes, sandwiches etc.) with amazing home-made bread.

Variety of board games available for guest use.

Surfboard rental (long, short and body boards too)

Book exchange at 1 for 1 and a movie library.
