One and a half blocks from Parque Central on lively Calle Real, Hostal de Lili is regarded as a ‘Casona’, the term given to grand old houses in Colombia. Lili bought the 120 year old house in 2004, after moving from a farm in Manizales, and has since transformed it into a beautiful, warm and tastefully decorated home, come hostal.
Lili is a prime example of why Colombians are known as being amazingly friendly and welcoming people. She is energetic and always wears a smile. Lili loves her cooking (you may even be lucky enough to try it) and her diverse music collection is a nice addition to the feel of the hostal. There’s always a pot of coffee or aromatic tea on the stove and she is more than willing to give advice about activities in and around Salento.
Lili has opened her home to travellers visiting this spectacular part of Colombia.
Lili shares her fully equipped kitchen with guests and offers laundry facilities for 6,000 Pesos per load and another 6,000 Pesos to machine dry. The coffee and aromatic tea (made from herbs picked from her garden) are complimentary. There is also a wonderful view of the sunset over the town from Lili’s terrace, complete with her collection of impressive Bonsai’s.
You will be guaranteed a wonderful night’s sleep on the ultra comfortable beds and the hostal is kept immaculately clean. It's definitely worth coming and spending a few days with Lili to enjoy her charming Colombian hospitality.
In addition to accommodation, Lilly has now started running a number of tours in the surrounding area including Coffee farm tours, trips to the Cocora valley, Parque de Cafe and nearby villages. All tours require a minimum of 3 people.
