
Hostal San Blas is located in the Getsemaní neighbourhood, an area popular with travellers and conveniently close to the main sights of Cartagena.
Owner Belisario and his family opened the hostel in 2008 and they aim to offer a backpacker friendly environment with good facilities and lots of local information. The owners have over 20 year of experience organizing boat trips to Panama too, so this is a good base for those planning this journey.

The hostel has a self-catering kitchen and dining area for those who prefer to dine in. There are also several social areas, including a comfortable TV room with cable TV and DVDs and the courtyard complete with mango trees, hammocks and BBQ.
Hostal San Blas also provides guests with an international library, a laundry service and safety boxes to lock up your valuables. There is also a pool table and an in-house tattoo/piercing studio for those who wish to have a permanent reminder of their time in Cartagena!
There is free Internet access and Wi-Fi, soft drinks are on sale from the reception and bike rental can be arranged through the hostel.
As well as tours to the San Blas islands, Belisario and his family also arrange trips to Islas del Rosario, Playa Blanca, Totumbo volcano, Bocachica and Boquilla. They can also organise city tours or Rumba Chiva for those who wish to stay in the city.

From the airport: a taxi should cost around 8,000 Pesos. Alternatively you can take a bus marked CENTRO and get off at the India Catalina monument. From there, walk four blocks south to find Calle Segunda la Magdalena. Take a right onto this street and you will find The Hostal San Blas on your right hand side.
