Hostal Leon Dormido, Galapagos , Ecuador

Hostal Leon is a great place to start or finish a trip in the Galapagos. This is a family-run hostal that opened its doors to the public in 2007 and is run by Guilllermo Leon and Maria Sanchez. If you happened to fly to the Galapagos to see wildlife, you will quickly realize that Hostal Leon Dormido is in an ideal place to stay, especially if you want to keep tabs on the colony of sea lions just short walk away.

With a large amount of good restaurants and travel agencies nearby, you will not have to go far when planning your next adventure. The best part is that when your day is done, you can look forward to coming back to a nice clean, quite room with a hot shower and a comfortable mattress which will help draw out your last ounces of energy - miraculously assisting you to put down that guidebook for the night.
Hostal Leon Dormido has 11 comfortable rooms. All rooms have a private bathroom, towels, hot showers, ceiling fan and local TV. The room breakdown is as follows: One room with a single bed at $15 per person (they will upgrade you to a double if a single is not available); 4 double rooms at $15 per person; 3 family rooms with a full size bed and a single bed for $35 a night (sleeps three) and 3 matrimonial rooms with a full size bed (sleep two) for $25 a night.

The hostel now includes a travel agency and a homely coffee shop.

All prices include the obligatory 12% IVA (Value Added Tax).
Reservations are preferred to be made by email so that a confirmation can be sent.
How to get there...
The hostal is a short 9 minute walk from the airport and a 2 minute stroll from the main municipal dock if you are arriving in San Cristobal by boat. The pavements and streets are well maintained if you are rolling your luggage instead of carrying it. Another option is to take a taxi that should cost you no more than $1.00.

If you are coming from the airport follow the only road the leads out of the facility. Turn left when you reach Jose de Villamil (Barrio Los Cactus Parque is on the right hand side). Hostal Leon Dormido is two blocks down on the left hand side, right before the waterfront.
To reach the hostal from the municipal dock, take a right when stepping off the dock and walk 2 minutes along the waterfront, turning left on Jose de Villamil. It will be on your right hand side.
