La Serrana, Salento & Coffee region , Colombia

La Serrana was opened in 2009 by owner Jonathan Schwartz after undergoing remodelation to transform this quaint farmhouse into a friendly and comfortable backpacker´s lodge.
Located a 15 minute walk from the village of Salento, La Serrana is nestled in the mountainous countryside and offers spectacular views. It offers comfortable and affordable accommodation in a relaxing, rural environment. The added bonus of an on-site restaurant and all the facilities a seasoned traveller would expect makes this a great base for exploring the Colombian coffee region.
La Serrana offers 7 rooms of different prices and capacity to suit all budgets. Every room has a private bathroom, all but one with hot water.

There are three dorms with 5, 6 and 10 beds and with prices at 20,000 Pesos per person. Private rooms sleep from 1 to 5 people and vary in price depending the room. Camping is also available for 10,000 COP (must have own tent) which includes parking, access to a full bathroom with shower, breakfast, and use of the La Serrana facilities and services.

There is an on-site restaurant with great views and a basic breakfast is included in the price of the stay. There are additional breakfast items which can be purchased at reasonable prices. Candle lit dinner is also available at an extra cost during the week.

La Serrana offers a self-catering kitchen, a large lounge and TV room with comfortable couches, a sociable dining area as well as indoor and outdoor seating and hammocks. There´s also a large outdoor fire pit.
