La Casa de Nelly is one of the original countryside backpacker hostels in town. French owner Nelly has lived and worked in San Agustin since around 1982 and has created a beautiful countryside retreat.
Uphill and offering beautiful views of the surroundings, the gardens and comfortable lounge areas make this a very relaxing place to spend a few days.

Hotel Casa de Nelly has a maximum capacity of 22 people both in the main building and in cabins in the gardens. Prices are from 15,000 Pesos per person in low season for a room with shared bath to 25,000 Pesos per person for a private cabin in high season.The restaurant is open every day and offers tasty international cuisine using fresh ingredients. There is also a bar offering refreshments.
There are some lovely social areas including an outdoor shelter with hammocks for reading and relaxing, a comfortable lounge and plenty of gardens to stroll around and take in the views.
How 2 get there...
La Casa de Nelly is a little tricky to find. From the Main Square, go down the road to the left of the church until you meet a crossroads. At the crossroads, take a left which curves round past a shop on the right and the follow the dirt road along for a further ten minutes.There is a turn off on the left with a sign post for the casa de Nelly. From here its a steep climb until the gate on the left.
Taxis from the town cost 4,000 Pesos.
