The Calle Media Luna has always been a popular street for travellers to base themselves in Cartagena and Hotel Marlin is by far one of the better choices here. Owner, Marcos Perez Jimenez and his wife Maritza opened Hotel Marlin in 2002 and have worked to make this a more backpacker friendly option by adding facilities such as a self-catering kitchen and possible dormitory rooms.

This friendly hotel is right in the heart of the action on the bustling Calle Media Luna is a good central choice and a good value and comfortable stay.

Hotel Marlin has 24 comfortable rooms ranging in size from single rooms to those catering for groups of up to five people

Prices are around 20,000 Pesos per person in high season, dropping to 15,000 Pesos per person for the rest of the year.

There is access to the kitchen on request for those who want to self-cater and a handy laundry service available - just ask at the reception.

There are some lovely social areas, nicely decorated with heavy wooden furniture and locally made artwork.

How 2 get there...
Once in the historic centre, you will find Calle Media luna just to the east of the Parque del Cenetario. Follow the street along two blocks to find Hotel Marlin on your left, it's a yellow and green.
