The Hotel Villa Colonial is a mid-range option in the bustling center of Getsemani, Cartegena. Owned by a Colombian family as part of a 3-hotel chain, this place is operated “con gusto” with traditional Colombian hospitality.
There are three floors situated in a traditional colonial style home. An open roof traps the evening breeze and keeps this spot cool. Comfortable and clean rooms offer different bedding options and there are furnished sitting areas on all the floors including a deck with a view of the neighborhood.
The location, right of Calle Media Luna, is superb and puts you right in the center of cafes, restaurants and dancing.
There are 26 rooms on three floors. Each room comes equipped with a private bathroom, different beds for varied sleeping options, cable tv and air conditioning or fans.
Laundry service is available, and while the Hotel Villa Colonial does not have a kitchen, guests are welcome to use the kitchens and a pool at the nearby sister hotels run by the same family.
The rate for one person in a room with a fan is 40,000 COP per night. A room with air conditioning costs 60,000 COP for one person. Two people in a fan-only room can expect to pay 60,000 COP and 80,000 COP in a room with air conditioning.
About 15 minutes from the airport and 30 minutes from the bus terminal. Take a taxi into the Getsemani district.
