La Casa de Francois is a relaxed backpackers place up on the hill overlooking the town. It's a place to make yourself at home with a colourful comunal kitchen, spacious outdoor social areas and comfortable dorm and private accommodation.

Originally a farmer's cottage, the hostel has been colourfully decorated and the land carefully maintained with crops and flowering plants grown between the cabins.

Friendly owner, Francois, will help you with local information and although there is no restaurant here, there is alway fresh homemade bread and jams available to buy.

La Casa de Francois has been built little by little over the years with many arty and personal touches to form todays hostel with a capacity of 16 people shared between the main building and two cabins. La Casa de Francois offers two private doubles for 35,000 per room and the rest as dorm accomodation at a set price of 15,000 pesos per person.

There is a big self catering kitchen and cold drinks for sale as well as an outdoor social, dining area. Homemade bread and jams are also available for sale as well as a breakfast service.

The location offers great views over the town and surrounding valley but is far enough from the town to allow guests peace and quiet to enjoy the countryside.

Information about tours and local events and activities is provided. An internet terminal is also available as well as a book exchange in English, German and French.

A laundry service is also available on request.

La Casa de Francois is a little way out of town, uphill from Carrera 13, passing the brick factory on the right and taking the second right turn. A bit further up the hill, La Casa de Francois can be found on the left. Francois also offers a free pickup service from the centre of San Agustin. If you wish to take advantage of this service it's best to take a note of Francois' mobile number and let him know when you arrive.
