La Portada Hospedaje is a family run establishment in the village of San Andres de Pisimbala, a short walk from the entrance to the Tierradentro Archeological park. The owners are friendly and can provide plenty of information about the sights and attractions in the area as well as the logistical information which will make your visit to the area easier to organise.
The unique bamboo construction has plenty of character and a handy location for transport and accessing the areas attractions.
Facilities...
La Portada Hospedaje has 5 rooms with private bath (20,000 Pesos pp) and 6 rooms with shared bath (15,000 Pesos pp). All showers have hot water and each room sleeps up to three people. Children under 12 stay for free. The rooms look out over the surrounding mountains and are clean and comfortable.
La Portada restaurant is opposite serving traditional colombian fare all day at reasonable prices.
A laundry service is available through the hostal and tours, guides and horse riding can all be arranged.
How 2 get there...
The bus which leaves Popayan at 10.30am enters the village of San Andrés de Pisimbalá and passes by La Portada. The bus stops about 30m further up. For those who take a bus which stops only at the junction, from there it's a few km uphill to the village of San Andrés de Pisimbalá.
