Le Rendez-Vous is set 'far enough from the plaza that it is quiet but only a 3 minutes walk to the middle of town French owners Isabelle and Serge are very friendly and accommodating, providing fantastic information about Vilcabamba and the surrounding area.
The hostel has eco/traditional buildings constructed from adobe brick, bamboo and eucalyptus beams. The spacious and very comfortable double and single rooms (all with private bathroom) are set amongst beautiful landscaped gardens full of exotic flowers, and a large gorgeous avocado tree.
All rooms have a terrace with hammock where a delicious breakfast is served every morning, comprising of either fruit salad or scrambled eggs, homemade bread with butter and jam, a freshly squeezed juice, and choice of either tea, coffee or hot chocolate.
There is an excellent information area which includes travel guides, and information on transport, hiking, horse riding, restaurants, and other services and activities in Vilcabamba and Ecuador.
Prices start at $8 each for triple/quadruple rooms, $9 each for a double room, and $11 for a single room. Breakfast is included.
All rooms have hot water 24 hours a day, towels supplied and a daily maid service.
Other amentities include laundry service, cafeteria, library (French, English, Spanish and German), free luggage storage, TV and DVD rental with over 300 movies, games (chess, playing cards, darts), WiFi internet, and Spanish classes.
English, French and Spanish is spoken at the hostel.
