Canadian Glenn Massingham and Belizean Julie Berry started Coiba Dive Center in 2007. They saw the need for a full service dive center in the Santa Catalina area and the newly established Coiba National Park. Although they may be the “new kids on the block” in Santa Catalina, they are by no means inexperienced. Between them, they have over 25 years experience as PADI dive instructors and have logged over a thousand dives in the nearby Coiba National Park and surrounding areas.

Their experience becomes apparent during their detailed briefings and is also evident in the amenities found at the dive center. Quality and maintenance of their diving and snorkeling equipment is a priority. Each boat carries a first aid kit, oxygen, VHF radio, GPS, compass and safety strobe lights. Tours are always done with small groups, which is another good example of their “safety-and-service-first” approach.

Santa Catalina is the ideal start off point for scuba diving and snorkeling in Coiba National Park. With more than 30 dive and snorkel sites, guests may encounter white tip reef sharks, manta rays, turtles, whale sharks and even humpback whales, depending on the season.

Diving tours there is a minimum of 2 persons and for snorkel tours a minimum of 4 is required. For all divers with their own equipment there is a US$ 10 savings per day.

Coiba Dive Center is open daily from 8am to 6pm. Spanish and English are spoken.
