Waterdog Tours is a brand new rafting company based in the village of El Chaco in the Quijos valley about 25 minutes outside of Baeza. The small team is made up of three fully qualified and passionate guides who are keen to let visitors to the area know just why this area was chosen for the 2005 world rafting championships!
Based in one of the lesser known areas of the country and amid spectacular cloud forest scenery, this is a great way to combine adventure activities with seeing a beautiful part of Ecuador.

Rio Quijos

There are several options available for rafting on Rio Quijos for either full or half day trips. This is a grade 3 to 4+ river and a fun and exciting ride!
Rio Salado
$30-$55
This river offers slightly more challenging rapids at grade 2 to 4- although there are sections which are available to rafters of all abilities for full or half day excursions.
Rio Due
$55
This is an exciting full day excursion which allows you to explore some of the areas most spectacular scenery while riding the rapids.
For an extra $20.00 a private transfer from Quito is available.

This is a full day tour with entrance fees and transport included.
Papallacta

How 2 get there...
From the town of Baeza, there are regular pick-up trucks which make the 25 minute run to El Chaco for $1.00, otherwise, the buses which continue through Baeza to Lago Agrio will also pass through the village (25 cents)Once in El Chaco, the Waterdog Tours office is easy to find, a block along Calle Revolucion, left off of the main road.
